Samsung just announced Galaxy AI, an AI solution designed to enhance the user experience on its upcoming devices.
According to the Korean company, Galaxy AI leverages both on-device AI developed by Samsung and cloud-based AI-enabled through collaboration with industry partners, which may include companies such as Microsoft and Google. Therefore, Galaxy AI will improve user experience, while prioritizing security and privacy. One of the key features of Galaxy AI is AI Live Translate Call, which is expected to launch on Samsung's latest phones, possibly the Galaxy S24 series. This functionality seamlessly integrates personal translators into native features like calls, eliminating the need to use third-party apps.
It provides real-time text and audio translations in conversations, making communicating with speakers of other languages as easy as turning on subtitles for a TV show. To protect the privacy of conversations, Galaxy AI works entirely on the device.
Samsung has confirmed that Galaxy AI will launch in early 2024, suggesting that it may first appear on the Galaxy S24 series. A recent report suggests that the company may launch the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3/Exynos 2400 S24 series on January 17.
Wonjoon Choi, Executive Vice President and Head of R&D of the Mobile Experience Business, emphasized the transformative potential of Galaxy AI. “Mobile technology has the power to connect people, increase productivity, and unleash creativity on a global scale, and Galaxy AI represents a comprehensive step in this direction,” he stated.
